VANITY

A dangerous drug to those who abuse it

An unknown addiction in all those naïve

The need to satisfy what should be content

Soon turns to greed, and a delusion well-spent

The price for vanity is but never ending

Even in reflections you don’t recognise

It poisons, perverts, and imprisons all nature

Until happiness is all we see with our eyes

How much is too much?

How little is too little?

Vanity expires to those who are fickle

The shattered image of a girl who is teased

A broken spirit, and dark haunted dreams

She takes everything that God ever gave her

In a tragic desperation

To amend what never was

An unfortunate weakness

She will soon come to regret

In a deadly price paid….for beauty never lost.
