"Unfolding"

A Sonnet.

We lived in the disgraces of men

Little comfort is there in such derision

In those days, it was the dark waters that carried us,

that swept me to and fro,

What false hopes did linger

in those hours of childhood innocence?

They crumbled.

Her tears were turned to ash,

And through which her heart burst forth, like that of a phoenix?

Her lips attend mine,

That delicious tide rising within us both once again,

It rocks us into breathlessness, and then

Abandoning to the cold shore the reddest petals,

This

Yes, this is the life.

Falling effortlessly in love again and again with my wife.
