Uncomfortably Numb
My apathy is my melancholy

I live a comfortable quiet life
I scribe poems
for a few friends to read
My wife crafts her crafts
.
Self engrossed we are, yes indeed
.
We fill our kitchen cupboard
nestled here nicely in the suburb
As a bear in hibernation
I find myself, at times,
living a state of self isolation
.
Is this the reason I feel
so uncomfortably numb?
.
My tears are dormant, no rain will come
My apathy is my melancholy
.
This unbearable ennui
should not be my reality
.
Help me please
There has to be a better way
.
Lets help ourselves
by helping our neighbors
lift the loneliness of today.
So we all may have, everyday,
a Happy Valentines Day!
