A dance among the clouds

Two birds cross paths while flying high

Quite diff'rent roads slice up the sky

Seagull and crow, away they go

Yet for a time, together flow

x

Fly side by side, not fast nor slow

And in due time, closer they grow

The sun, it speeds them on their way

Still in one spot, they cannot stay

x

The lessons love to hunt their play

In synchrony we elevate

Simplicity to seize the day

To bring to life our dormant fate

x

The inspiration fills our wings

The time together fills our plates

The wind, of distant river sings

Excitement energizes gaits

x

The quest, it speaks of crowns and kings

Yet diff'rent music fills my heart

I'm thinking suddenly of rings

The bells ring out; I've missed my start

x

How long I've flown, how much I've known

Only to find I stand apart

From those I love, I'm carved in stone

I cannot change the course I chart

x

Until of blood, until of bone

I've given, on I will yet drone

I must persist till I atone

For all the wicked seeds I've sown

x

I cannot fly into the light

Until I am truly contrite

No matter how well I might write

My soul is surely far from white
