His Escape

Todd was not much of a storyteller.

Many in his village did not listen to him much.

They knew that the dragon bit was a lie.

How could it be true?

They had not seen one in ages.

And they might not in the next generation.

He was trying to prove them wrong.

This was to be his escape.

Something that he had never imagined, it would inspire his whole life.

The dragons were calling through his old-fashioned veins.

Reigns to another empire, that had grown cold over time.

Their riotious incense gathered around their crinkly skin, like an effervescent shadow.

He could not release this tension.

Everyone around him encouraged him to battle the demons inside of him.

Or his mind would go blank.

And he did not want them to gain control of his every move.

The beasts were already with him.

They were trying to strike out in unison.

His story, started out slow, to slowly mount on another plane of existence.

Todd's trusty battle axe was dull with the ringing of the metallic cry of anarchy.
