Today I met fear face to face.

Well, it was actually Facebook to Facebook.

Her name was Ms Fear.

She saw my book about fear.

I titled it Fearless because

We all want less fear in our lives, right?

No one wants more of fear

Unless it’s a different kind of fear.

Great to meet you hear, she wrote.

Was that a typo? I wondered.

Or, was she feeling poetic,

Wanting her words to rhyme?

I see you’ve got a book call Fearless, she replied.

I love it! She praised.

My programme is called —

Fearful to Fearless, she said.

How amazing, I responded.

And then I did the unthinkable.

I asked the big question,

the one I now wish I hadn’t asked.

Is Fear a trade name or your real name?

I am still waiting for a reply.

I fear I may have offended her.

But then again, maybe not.

Today I met Fear, Ms Fear — Facebook-to-Facebook.
