To Be

A Poem

Je suis, To Be

Those are the words I see.

To Be, To See,

If I were only free.

‘Twas the Dane who questioned his actions

As he waited for his crowd’s reactions.

Playing with madness ever still,

He hung on a thread, next to his free will.

Masterful with language, he knew his tone,

On his task, he knew, it was him alone.

To a mirror he asks the most famous question,

“To be, or not to be...”

Mark, there is hesitation.

With the choices set before us, we have little time,

We must decide what to do, before nothing feels fine.

Before every choice, ask yourself one thing:

“Did I do it right, or is there something missing?”

Nothing needs to end in pain,

Only know how to heal and there is the gain.

You learn to fight and control your fears.

Whatever comes, you’ll turn the gears.

Be not afraid of the life that lies ahead,

Your part will be difficult, and yet,

There is always an answer waiting around,

“To be or not to be...”

Your answer must be of the truest sound.

In the dark you will wander, lost and confused,

But my dear, this life is really any path you choose.

So take in every breath, every noise, every measure,

Because a life, is truly something to treasure.
