Tis Life

A Social Commentary Poem

Often in life, I find myself wondering why things are the way they are. People seem to be so selfish, vindictive and malicious. In order to get this out of my mind, I wrote a small poem. I hope you enjoy it.

Tis chivalry – Frivolous on the mistress

Whom be pitied by the rose.

Tis virtue – How doth the humble creator

Show with pride in a trade adroitly chose?

Tis commodity – A design by fervent hands

For chance to delay mankind’s fate.

Tis calamity – Inflicted from the misuse

By apathetic hands for a clean slate.

Thank you for reading my poem, I hope you enjoyed it. If so, please feel free to read my other poems here on Vocal. I write poems occasionally as well as both personal and political things, so whatever you are looking for, I’ve probably written about it.

If you want to read more poems by me, please send me a gift my way through this site. More importantly, if you do, please leave a message saying what kind of poem you are looking to see more of. I can even leave you a personal thank you if you leave your name. So don't be shy!
