Time

Love expired

Time has passed so briskly

And now that I think about it,

Time has always been a thing for us.

We wanted more time,

Longed for it.

But when the time came,

So did those emotions.

We had all the time in the world,

Which was exactly what we asked for.

But the time wasn't what we hoped for.

With time, we grew

Further and further apart.

Disdain began to blossom.

But unlike how flowers naturally bloom,

There was less love running through our veins.

The soil became unwatered,

Crumbling underneath us.

But we didnt seem to notice.

Time.

We had it all and determined that we needed less.

Less together.

Less arguing.

Less irritations.

Less of what brought us together in the first place.

Time.

We now needed it apart.

It hurt to admit at first,

But we’ve had time.

Time to make the best of it all.

Time to take advantage.

Instead, we let the expiration date creep by

And wondered why we lost the seemingly everlasting flavor.

We expired.

We wilted.

We got lost in time.

Now the time has come,

To provide us with no more.
