Throwing in the towel

Surrender? Keep going?

In the battle rings of life, when the blows rain down,

like a never ending rain on a stormy night,

And the weight of the world seems too much to bear,

When every step forward feels like a stumble, like a burden,

And hope fades away into thin air.

It's ever so tempting to raise the white flag high,

To life's pressure, to give in, to throw in the towel,

To surrender to defeat's dark embrace ,

To let go of dreams, to abandon the fight,

And seek solace in a quieter space. A place of depression.

But champions are not made from moments of ease,

Nor by paths that are smooth and clear.

It's in the struggle, the grin, the hussle, the grit,

That true strength and courage appear.

So, when adversity knocks you to the ground,

And the urge to give up begins to swell,

Remember, it's not about how many times you fall,

But how fiercely you rise, and refuse to bid farewell.

It is said that seven times fall and seven times rise

but I will add to that and said eight times rise.
