Three Poems of Individualism, Not Acceptance - MM
Broken. Deeper, Every
Broken
One day
They will go too far
They will break you
Not your spirit
Or your mind
But your doubt
They will believe
They locked you away
In your own cage
But all they did
Is give you
A room
To think
Deeper
Go deeper
No
Deeper
No
Holding on
Still
Playing their game
Ever
So Slightly
Still
Trying to
Be
Fucking liked
Still scared
Yes
Go deeper
Yes
Let it go
It never was
The game for you
The mad men
Hermits
Heretics
Dreamers
Rebels
And Skeptics
Pray
For you my love
Every
They’re all saying the same thing
Every sideways glance
Raised eyebrow
Stare
Every
Questioning tone
Awkward laughter
Prolonged silence
Every
Maybe
We’ll see
Not today
Every
I think you should
I think you could
Perhaps it would be best if…
Every
Mockery
Insult
And Condemnation
It’s all saying
Play by the rules
But they never knew
That you don’t know how
And if you ask
And you really listen
You’ll realise
They don’t
Either
