The Woman In The Wall
A poem about Bipolar Depression. Sometimes the wall gives way.
The woman in the wall called for help
She reached her hands out to grasp for touch
She watched as life continued without her
And all the while
She was forgotten in the wall.
The woman in the wall lived in silence
Life passed by as she passed nothing
Memories came and went
Days passed in a blur
And all the while
She was forgotten in the wall.
The woman in the wall decayed
What she used to be was no more
What she once loved brought nothing but pain
And all the while
She was forgotten in the wall.
The woman in the wall accepted her fate
She knew she would never be free now
Her essence was walled up while someone else lived
And all the while
She was forgotten in the wall.
The woman in the wall died
She was not the woman on the outside
The woman on the outside was not authentic
She lived a medicated lie
And all the while
She had forgotten that she was in the wall.
The wall gave way
The woman climbed out
Seeing light for the first time
She vowed not to let go
she shut up the woman who lived a lie
And all the while
She was forgotten in the wall.
She promised to live
As long as she could
Truthfully authentic
Truthfully outside
For after a while
The time would come
And all the while
She would be forgotten in the wall.
