The war

It was more of a slaughter than a war

“This was my home.”

The strangers on the ship

Came out of nowhere

Taking his home

Killing his tribe

And war soon broke out.

He sang to the Gods

Asking them why

Sang to the mother

Asking her why

He sang to the Gods

Asking for strength

Sang to mother

Asking for hope

He sang to the Gods

For the best weapon he can have

He sang to the mother

For forgiveness

He sang to the Gods

Asking them why

He sang to the mother

Asking her why

When the strange people

On the boats

Riding the seas came

And stole his home,

Killed his people

The battle had broken out.

He sang to the Gods

Asking them why

He sang to the mother

Asking her why.

His family gone

Along with friends

He ran for his life

Not wanting a fight,

But war had broken out

A slaughter had started

Now there’s blood on the rocks

And not red paint.

He sang to the Gods asking them why

He sang to the mother

Asking her why

He ran

And they followed

They killed him

The blood of a man

Leaking into the sea

Leaking into mother arms

As his body tossed into the deep blue

War had broken out,

But it was more of a slaughter

When the strange people

And their ships

Took his home

And slaughter his tribe.
