"The Tree on an Empty Street"

There stands a tree on an empty street
Its vibrant leaves give shelter from the heat
Its roots sink below
Its branches broaden and grow
Its age can not be known
Its magnitude can forever be shown
Near perfect, it had just one simple flaw
No child no man dare touch it at all
O what a marvelous and splendid tree
But lonely perhaps we all can agree
No bird no beast rests on its trunk
No creature climbs, it stands as junk
Its beauty outweighs its purpose
It lies alone and worthless
Its branches lay low in burdens
Like beauty outside though eclipsed by curtains
