A feeling that lingers on like a haunting past.

It was a love that was never truly felt,

A flame that quickly flickered and left.

The emptiness of a love that was never truly returned,

A broken heart that still yearns.

For the moments of happiness and bliss,

But the reality of it was just a temporary kiss.

The pain of a love that was never meant to be,

A dream that shattered so easily.

The longing for a love that was never truly realized,

A love that was never truly acknowledged or prized.

The sadness of a love that was never fully accepted,

A feeling that leaves the heart broken and dejected.

The tears that fall from a love that was never truly meant to be,

A memory that leaves a permanent mark and will always be.
