The Problem With Poems and a Two Word Haiku
Writing Poems on Vocal
I recently had a poem rejected because it didn’t meet the minimum word count for a poem for Vocal (a hundred words) . Most of my poems are under a hundred words but I usually include a preamble about the poem which then means the story hits maybe a hundred and fifty or mre words.
The rejected poem was a Vardhaku , a form created by Cendrine Marrouat and Justin Smith that you can read about here. The poem is Accentuate The Positive ironically.
The two poems below are a sort of response , well the Haiku was just to serif I could do it in two words , the first a limerick for the Vocal Judge.
A Vocal Judge
A Vocal Judge Had An Antic
Decided to be So Pedantic
And he thought he had heard
Poems were a hundred words
Creator left feeling so frantic
Two Word Haiku
Perpendicular
