Finding Hope in Grief

In sorrow's grip, a man does stand

With heart weighed down by heavy hand

His love, his life, his soulmate true

Taken from him, and left him blue

The world around him fades to grey

The sun no longer lights his way

He wanders lost, with tears in eyes

And longs to hear her sweet goodbyes

The memories of their time together

Are now a source of endless tether

To what was lost, and what's to come

A life without his precious one

Yet deep within his heart of pain

A spark of hope begins to reign

A flicker, small, but burning bright

That guides him through the darkest night

He knows that though his love has gone

Her memory will always live on

And in his heart, forever more

She'll be the one that he adores

So though his path is fraught with grief

And joy may seem beyond his reach

He knows that in his heart and soul

Her love will make him once more whole.
