The love I'll always give

a philosophy of living

Koenigsseeache, Hallein, Austria. As captured by the author in August of 2017.

Love lives not inside my heart

but like a brook, runs through me

it babbles, gurgles, moves like waves

and can be all consuming

An icy river flows across

the ice caps of the summit

crystal clear, from tip to Earth

my Love has just become it

I swim in dancing waters often

and I'm careless with my skin

for nicks and scrapes and surface wounds

are healed from outside, in

the ocean asks not of the bay

a promise of it's keeping

still with the tide she never ceases

sowing and then reaping

my stream is everlasting

overflowing every cup

and what I give is not a loss

but a chance to sharpen up

some have tried to siphon me

in attempt to dry me out

giving scars that I once thought

I would never live without

but time has made me wiser

and my truth has set me free

I pour my love on my terms now

not for them

for me

so if you see me black and blue

don't pity the life I live

for I wear with pride the marks of all

the love I’ll always give
