The King's Pawn

The King's Pawn

I know I am just a pawn

In the lives of the withdrawn

Maybe I am just a light

Maybe I am just your appetite

I am used and I am worn

I give out love to those unborn

Of true affection and empathy

I have never known apathy

I will love those with a twisted mind

But why must I be confined

To never experience my own love

Because when push comes to shove

No one is here to support me

The way I support the world's company.

How does it work?
