The Invisible Monster

I look around only to find that many people have lost their lives,

as COVID-19 takes over and actually thrives.

As this virus rapidly begins to destroy our nation,

I along with billions of others hide in our homes and pray for the vaccination.

It's devastation now most certainly shows,

as it's hunger for death and destruction quickly grows.

I see now that none of us are actually safe from this virus' deadly embrace,

for it knows no specific age group or race.

I am certain that there is no safe place for us to hide,

for the devastation from this virus can already be seen worldwide.

I'm not quite sure how much more our nation can endure,

or if we will ever make it back to feeling safe and secure.

I do hope and pray that we will soon break free,

from this invisible monster that we just can't see.
