The Huntress (of Skipton Castle Woods)
A Poem About An Amazing Willow Sculture By Anna Cross
This is a poem for The Huntress of Skipton Castle Woods, which I wrote about in the story below which contains links to Anna Cross (Anna and The Willow) and shows how it was constructed. She is an amazing creation by Anna and I visit every time I come to Settle and then take the train to Skipton.

In Skipton Woods The Magic of Willow
Is Woven By Anna Throughout This Realm
The First One You Meet, Beautiful Huntress
With Her Bow in Hand, She bids you Welcome

Magical Guardian Of Skipton Wood
She Is Always Here, Maybe Always Stood
This Huntress Majestic Looks Out For All
Creatures In Her Care All Will Heed her Call

The Huntress is The Queen of Skipton Wood
Proudly She Stands At The Entrance, Assured
All Who See Her Are Impressed and Entranced
Stand In Awe of Her Presence, Willow Branched
The Huntress Stands Forever In This Place
She Waits To Welcome You All In Her Grace

I truly love inspired, poetic storytelling and you have certainly mastered it! Love this piece!
This is beautiful. Love that.
I love this poem. I have written about Land Art and have written nature poems as well. The Huntress is one that I have examined a couple of times while taking Art History classes - specifically when we discussed the visual context and land art. My poem "Man's Nature" is one you might want to take a look at. And then my essay "Land Art and the Sublime"
This is a beautiful poem about the "willow-branched huntress". I had never seen this before. Anna has great talent.
