Wrapped in ribbons of red,

The Goddess wondered why there was no one to gaze upon her now.

They had professed their love only just this morning,

Showering her in praise and admiration as she let them glimpse the finery that draped her form.

Wrapped in ribbons of red,

Too breathless to speak the words her lips trembled to tell,

The Goddess wondered where her admirers were now,

The ones that had hung on her every syllable just hours before.

Wrapped in ribbons of red,

A blazing trail of destruction and awe behind her,

The Goddess wondered how to get the attention she needed,

From the men who'd previously fawned so eagerly for a mere wink of her eye.

Wrapped in rivulets of red,

About the Creator

Jacynta Clayton

As a child I wanted to be a mermaid when I grew up - or a writer. As I got older and discovered seashell bras to be impractical professional daywear, I started focussing on the latter.
