The Geologist

Love Is Hard

Rigid, raged shards crept around the gothic molten rock

Smooth fiery hot lava gushes out slowly,

Like honey on a warm summer’s day

He is close enough to feel the heat surge through the air

Carefully he observes from afar

The wonder in his eye glimmers as he retrieves a precious gem

One of which found upon the isle

Puzzled he appreciates its being here

He takes it in as his prize from this conquering

He weeps taking the beauty of the darkness in

Wrapping around him like a cold blanket from above

For nothing natural was ever so beautiful
