You want to be at the finish line

but you’re not even ready to start.

You have so many other things

to do before you take part.

You want to lead the pack

but you haven’t given yourself the time

to learn

how to trail.

Discomfort is not your friend.

You don’t have the fortitude you need

to lead.

You want to be at the finish line

but you’re not even ready to start.

You want to lead the pack

but you haven’t even learned how to trail.

I could tell you how

but you’re not prepared.

You wouldn’t want to hear this truth.

You want to be at the finish line

but you’re not even ready to start.

You’re not ready for this race.

You need to exit this track.

The place you need to start

has no friends,

nobody to blame

other than yourself.

The place you need to start

is worse than hell,

and darker than the darkest night.

It is not a lovely place to be.

Are you ready to wake from this dream?

Or would you rather I let you sleep?

Thank you for supporting my work.
