The day you were tuned down

The day I was turned down was a tough one.

The day I was turned down,

I felt like I had hit the ground.

My dreams and hopes, they all came crashing,

And my confidence, it started lashing.

I thought that I had done my best,

That my efforts would stand the test.

But instead, I was faced with defeat,

And my heart, it couldn't skip a beat.

I questioned all my choices then,

And wondered where I'd made a bend.

But as the days went on I learned,

That sometimes, it's just our turn.

To be rejected, to feel the pain,

But that doesn't mean it's in vain.

For every door that closes tight,

Another opens to new light.

So I stood up and brushed off the dust,

And looked ahead with courage and trust.

For I knew that success would come,

And I'd rise again when all was done.
