The Butterfly
Sunny days,
Winter gone
Gone away cold, snowy months.
Time for new.
Time for fun.
Yarn, hook, and scissors on a rescue run.
Bright pink cotton,
beads, and thread.
Nothing has been decided yet.
Spring renewal,
so is hope
for a bright new world within our scope.
How I yearn for peace and love,
for life and laughter,
family above.
It has begun,
each ray of sun,
wiping away the tears, the fears
among us.
From quarantine, virus,
the lockdown.
What emerges at the end of a long wait?
What begins when the end is near?
What to create,
but a symbol to elate in faith.
Crochet hook,
cotton, beads, and thread.
Scissors snipping,
snip, snipping away.
When at the end of all the love
emerges a beautiful life.
Fly, fly up in the sky.
Fly away,
my beautiful butterfly.
