There once was a bird,

A beautiful bird,

She spread her wings,

And flapped them so,

And into the sky she flew.

As she flew she soon saw

A flock of birds she knew,

Tired and worn

this flock she saw

Kept flying the way they knew

Tempted and torn

the little bird knew

There was no room for her

Burdened enough

the flock flew on

While the little bird

silently withdrew

As she went on

More flocks she saw

But never a place for her

Days went by

And on she flew

Not a flock in sight

Tired and worn

She flew down

To rest her wings and mind

But when she tried to fly again

She knew not what to do

With memories of the sky

But nothing of how to fly

So alone and lost

She walked on

In search of flock who knew

For time to time

She met a bird

Who walked

As she did too

Whilst up in the sky

So far from her

Flock after flock flew

She struggled on

And one day she saw

A bird who flew

From flock to ground

And back again

Such a sight

Left her in awe

But of the birds struggle

She knew naught

Time went on

And of the birds battles

She learnt

Amazed once more

She sought to learn

The bird was kind

And taught her how to fly again

As days went by

And she learnt more

To help that bird

In anyway

Became a goal

But soon she found

Herself unsure

What could she

Ever do
