The beach

I'm lying on the beach

I feel the sand between my toes

The wind blows my hair around

The sun is burning on my body

I'm lying on the beach

I feel calm and sleepy

I feel ....

I feel one with nature

I'm lying on the beach

The sun is setting

The sky turns purple and red

The heavy wind quiets down

I'm lying on the beach

The night is colder

Peace has returned

The waves crash unfailingly

I'm lying on the beach

The space I feel here at the beach

The peacefulness

Will be long gone tomorrow

So I'm lying on the beach

I breathe in the air one last time

I see the waves crash still

And smile when I walk away, back home again

I wrote this poem while I was actually laying at the beach. I went there all on my own because I wanted some peace and stillness. That I found, but the poem describes my sadness that it won't last. I had to get back to my busy life, where I have a much harder time finding peace and stillness.

I hope you enjoyed it

Love,

Hanneke
