Thank You For Your Heroism
It Is All About Honor
You look at him now
He may seem frail and weak
Sitting there is his chair
Wrinkled skin and thin cheeks
His hands may be scarred
He may be missing a limb
His story isn’t easy to read, just by looking at him
But he ran into a storm
Of flying bullets and bombs
In WW1 or 2, Iraq or Iran
Wherever he fought
He did it - for me and for you
To protect and to serve
The United -Red, White, and Blue
His mission was clear
He hesitated, not once
When the anthem - he hears
He knows it’s playing, because
Of men and women like him,
Who heeded the call
Thanks to all who gave some
AND SOME WHO GAVE ALL
Many thanks to the men and women who gave of their freedoms to preserve mine
