I will not be with you
On this coming Christmas day
But in my heart and mind
You will not be far away.
I hope this special time
Will bring you warmth and calm
With your little ones
Providing a soothing balm.
I wish I could do more
Then I can
I wish I could be there
To be your man
Maybe sometime soon
That day will come to be
When you and I
Will become a we
But for now, all I can do
Is wish you a great Christmas day
And tell you I love you
In my own poetic way.
