What is the talking phase?
If not “wyd” texts and awkward phone calls,
Overthinking and second guessing,
FaceTimes without faces.
Showing pictures to your friends claiming, “they look better in person.”
Supporting an absolute stranger.
It’s the willingness to open someone’s closet
knowing the skeletons that are scratching at the door.
Chosing to love them of your own volition.
It’s 12 am Google conversations
with questions you didn’t ask the last one.
It’s nervous laughter and shy hugs
It’s hoping this time you got it right
It’s something new.
Because what is the talking stage if not falling for the person falling for you.
