Tale Goes Awake

Up in the night

Why can't I be the one

to write a love song

in the wind

to hold, caress the colors

each dance a swirl, a melody

of never-ending spells

that stay, go,

fly once more

adding smiles to each look and hug,

if I was meant to stay

where are you now

and how

can I see you again?

***

In memories, in sight

in everything that stands

the touch of time

loathes pain

vanity in the night

ran in searing blight,

I know not how to stop

this wall goes higher in the dark

when I wake up

you're far away,

but here.

***

Come back,

look down,

I never left your side

why are thorns tripping on defeat

why can't I smell the flowers?

Roses know of our love

did they forget that dusk,

long ago or last spring

feelings played with blue light,

a purple glow took doorstep

and the velvet road

stood still

no steps ahead, none back

we were exactly

where we meant

to be.

***

What changed since then

what breeze washes away your soul,

does it bring pain and loss,

is there care and affection left

do you see my face in the dark,

or mirrors only glow,

anger flowing

in precipice?

***

Do you wish to come back

or stay gone

in the night

of wandering hearts?

Walk on, walk back

ponder the sigh

flowers still grow in darkness

if there is one word left

of us

speak now

or let the quiet reign

serene.
