find out what you're missing
it's been a long day
you're feeling so far away
from the distant cries outside
beg you to join the vulturous tide

the demands keep on blaring
notifications are increasingly soaring
as the world shrieks for more
you don't have to hold the door
take a pause

so you finally decide to listen
find out what you're missing
away with the notes and agenda
begone the miscellaneous phenomena
take a pause

. . .
but the whining workaholism barges in
let the full orchestra of clamour and anxiety begin
you can't pull yourself from the chaos
you're no longer the boss
take a pause
take a pause
. . .
that small, humble voice inside vanishes
as the panic settles in
now all there is lies at life's keyboard
when all you needed was to snip the cord

what if there's more to the story
for those caught up in boosting their image/wish they knew that there's more to the story/hold on to the trophies and medals of the past/but it just attacks the fact that there's more to the story/to them they take all the glory/
