True Colours Challenge

Written by Pam Tucker

Synesthetes

I can tell by the way she holds her waist and twists her foot that she likes you

I can see when she turns the smile on her face when she talks to you

Who knew words echoing on the phone could sound and feel as sweet and warm as golden honey?

She never laughed that way until she met you

She never tasted or felt colours like the way she does when she is with you

The way she smiles when she sees your smile

The way she misses your brown eyes.

She could sink into your colourful kiss

And fall into your turquoise arms

There is a jar that’s full of coins from deliberate flirts

Oh what she would do if you took off your shirt

Trying to read the hidden meaning between the black and white spaces and words

How does she love he?

Like colours weaving through a maze

Like Romeo and Juliet

Or Adam and Eve

Her Kaleidoscope eyes light up when she sees him

Each time they kiss she sees a magnitude of colours

When their bodies melt into each other, a lavender field appears

Surrounded by a magnitude of sunsets

There love so sweet it tastes like true colours

Colours echo and vibrate through her body

He is the forbidden fruit that she craves

When he’s gone she feels lament

It starts to feel tantalizing

There may be distance

There may be days

But she’s sure her soul

Has never felt this way

If love is true colours

Then this I shall commit

Her Forlorn body, his Masculine build

Tangled up in forbidden love

Tangled up in coloured love

All is see feel taste and hear when I’m with you is colour

I can tell by the colour when I’m with you

That this is not a phase
