Swimming in the Rain

What a Glorious Feeling!

Oh, I remember swimming in the rain!

The waves that rolled across the ocean blue

The summer storm seemed it would never wane

As raindrops pattered hard; I never knew

The wondrous feel of swimming in a storm!

The way the waves would pull as we swam on

As every raindrop, with its impact, formed

A splash, a crater, that was there and gone

Submitting to the chaos, yet de-stressed;

The sweet exhilaration, what a feeling!

At peace, in nature’s careful arms, caressed

Thrilled by the thunderclaps; my head was reeling.

I hope to one day feel this free again

As free as I was, swimming in the rain.
