Sweet Nectar

A hummingbird’s tale

Today I felt myself linger in a million moments.

I caressed the wounds I’ve harbored.

I sang to my past lives and

I let you fall away from them.

I pushed you out to sea as

I slipped from your consciousness.

Nothing in me spoke the way I do now that I’m away from you.

There is freedom in these words.

The space between is growing everyday

And with each breath the healing blooms.

A million rosebuds in the sun

Glistening with morning dew

Swaying to the song of the breeze.

The pieces of my heart reconnect with pure gold

And a sweetness flutters in my soul

Like a hummingbird sipping nectar

On a Sunday afternoon.

Here’s to a million new moments.
