Swapsies
But not what you asked for!
If you think I’ll give up my gorgeous Ned
Let you take him from my bed
You’re mad as a hatter
Now my husband’s another matter
You can take him instead!
[Author’s Note: I’m brand new to limericks and wanted to have a try. So here’s my third effort. A wonderful commenter referred to my short story Humans Need Not Apply—inspired from when the Lancashire police put out an advert on Twitter asking for people to give up their young dogs for police training—suggested I try a limerick based on that, so here it is! Thanks for the inspiration. You can find links to the tweet and some humorous replies at the bottom of the short story 🙂]
*** In the UK, ‘swapsies’ means ‘the act of swapping’.

This was fun and sooooooo relatable! I feel like this about my fur babies... and husband too!! 💜
You hit the nail on the head with that one. Pets really do have us wrapped around their paws. How boring would life be without them?
Cute! I loved it. xo
LOL! Thanks for the chuckle, Harmony!
You’d better not let your hubby read this one 😂
That was an unexpected twist. Great work, Harmony!
Gave me a laugh. Well done.
Good one, Harmony :)
Oh my, this one is so funny. 😄
I got a chuckle out of that one!
I like this one. Reminds me of a sign I once saw that read, "Husband and dog missing. Reward for dog."
