Sunshine//Moonlight

a poem

Let that fire inside of you burn brighter than the sun,

Let it fill the sky

Let it light up the night

Let the whole world see you shine;

That fire keeps me close, keeps me wanting to be near you

Warming me when nighttime makes me cold,

And making me forget for a while that I'm afraid of so many things;

And I wanted to be like you

I wanted to burn, too,

But my light isn't enough to fill up anything;

I must be more like the moon,

Only shining because you do,

So keep on burning for the two of us

And I'll keep glowing just for you.
