I woke up today with your arms wrapped around my body

Your warmth gave me peace

Your smile woke me up

It was nice to feel you again

I missed you

You left late afternoon, around dinner time, yesterday

I didn't know where you went

For multiple hours, I was surrounded by darkness

Calling out and hoping you were near.

As it got later, you became more distant

Almost as if you were gone completely

I waited for you

I saw others that reminded me of you

They were beautiful

But not as beautiful as you

I saw them best when nothing else was around me

That's where you are different

I can see everything clear when I am with you

But they required me to leave everything behind

As time went on, I fell asleep waiting for you

Hoping you would come back

And you did

Like you always do
