Stormy Waters

Carry you home

Withstand the tide.

When sky is dark and clouds are grey,

And you feel like you have lost your way,

When lightning cracks and thunder roars,

And you’ve lost sight of calming shores,

When waters surge and waves break overhead,

When you can’t remember what’s been done and said,

Take some time to go inside,

There in your heart where power lies,

And continue that breath ‘til pulse subsides,

To free yourself from those riptides,

Let stiller waters carry you home,

Let beating waves reduce to foam,

The light comes through the cracks you see,

To ease your pain and set you free,

And should you ever need to find,

A way to leave the pain behind,

Come back to where you do belong,

You’ve had the power all along,

Inside yourself the beating heart,

The one true place where you can start.
