Stop Talking!
A needed message to some difficult people.
I’ve heard everything you have to say- more than once.
You are not saying anything that someone else had said before- and better.
Holding or running for a public office
Nor operating a well-endowed multinational company
Nor benefitting from that company’s products to put your words out immediately
Does not make you better or more informed than people who do not have that advantage
You look at people in large numbers alone
So you cannot see the few within the many
Who are most affected by your appalling ignorance
Your grandstanding
Your egotistical belief that everyone likes the same things you did growing up
And would like to see them now, again, in your own image
Rather than that of the people who toiled with tears and sweat to create it
I am old enough to know better than believe all of your lies
About how you have and are going to make the world “better”
Making your country “great”
Again.
And again.
And again!
And yet, you can’t see it.
Your money
And your jobs
And your lifestyle
Prevent you from doing so
You don’t care about me
And I know you don’t care
And I know you disgust me because of that
You’ve taken so much from me that my life is barely worth living
And you deny it every time it’s brought up
The sad thing is:
This could all be stopped
And my-your-our world saved
If you would only stop talking
And….listen!
