Soul Music

A love poem

If I wrote a song for you would you hear what I have to say? Would you see through my words, that you are my muse? I could put you up on that mountain high—but I won’t make that mistake again. Baby, I promise this to you. If I write you a song you will see new heights. As the lyrics fall from my lips to your ears; and the notes flutter to your heart. It’s time to let go of illusions and let my music move you. Baby close your eyes—let me take you to a new high. As the music unfolds it will take you on a beautiful ride. Feel the music rise and fall, from my lips to your soul. Feel the love in the words I wrote.

Don’t let his empty words distract you from what could be. Listen to the notes on this page. I know it ain’t perfect, yet. But I promise you this, as the song builds it will get there my love. Our stroll along the cobbled path, hand-in-hand, the music’s build fills your heart. Note by note, the song fades but the feelings stay; growing with every sideways glance and every caress of the hand. Your chestnut eyes, your ruby lips—I give my love song as a gift. You may forget the words, and that is okay. But you won’t forget your soul’s rebirth as the music rose and fell. As the music fades the dance just begins. As the music fades your soul penetrates mine.

You will be my savior—lifting me from the pits. Restoring my wings—my fall from grace. Giving me love's purpose again. As the lyrics fall from my lips to your heart, this song is a gift to lift your soul. Listen to the music end—feel the lyrics fade. I look deep into your chestnut eyes where our souls connect. Your olive brown skin capturing my attention. As the music fades so do your apprehensions. As the music fades into our love this song a testament to all which will come. My gift to your soul is this song.
