Soul Food
I love the conversations that feed your soul
Spoonfuls of memories that made us happy and more robust and humbled us to the core
Drizzles of funny anecdotes that create chuckles or full-belly laughs
Sweet morsels of the little things in life that bring us comfort and joy
The spice of love stories, sexual explorations, and exciting rendezvous
Oh, the melted goodness of camaraderie and community!
I love the waft of memoirs, feeling similarities and inspiration in another's tale.
These delicacies feel so rare these days but, oh how delicious they are!
Sampling peoples' stories
Savoring delectable details
And the burn of pain and loss and hopelessness
These encounters fill the soul the same way a good meal fills the belly:
Both leave one satiated and energized to take on the rest of the day
Or quietly content to hibernate in cozy bliss
It makes me whole and temporarily sated
But, in gluttonous fervor, I can't wait to dine on this banquet once more.
