Someone looks at me,

Asking how does he set free,

From the memories of his past,

Which has made him downcast.

Someone tells me a story,

Of his life, full of worry.

He must have been exhausted,

For the time he spent was wasted.

Someone calls me a friend,

I listen to him till the end.

His stories sink in my heart,

Bullseye likes a dart.

Someone tells me a joke,

I laugh hard until I choke.

Behind his joke was a sorrow,

He buries a wet face on the pillow.

Someone cries hard in front of me.

I know how it feels, I see.

His heart is bleeding inside.

I wish there’s a way to subside.

Someone stares a long time at me.

He’s tired and wants to be free.

He resolves to leave the past’s horror.

That someone is me in the mirror.
