One day, our roles will be reversed. You’ll feel lonely at the sight of something small and otherwise meaningless.
Driving in your car with Spotify on shuffle, you’ll hear a song that will take you back to a previously perfect moment, and it will break you.
You’ll hang around with someone new, and they’ll jump away from you in front of your family like they’re ashamed the way you said you were surprised and glad I never did.
It’s going to click someday that the worst way you ever managed to self-sabotage was when you ran from your happiness with me, and by the time that comes, I won’t be up at 4 a.m. missing you and wishing I could change things.
