So I Wait
Photo by Tom Morbey on Unsplash

Like a canyon I wait

Open and ready to receive

Open and ready to accept

Like a canyon awaiting a river

I was torn apart

I fell to my own depths

Found cold hard empty

Been waiting for my river

But you’ll never reach

The rainbow by chasing

So I wait to be found

Open as sky, I wait

The pull of the moon

On the ocean is

Like the pull of

Your heart on mine

So I wait for you

A canyon awaiting a river

A sky awaiting a rainbow

An ocean awaiting a moon

So I wait for you
