Snowy Days and Candle Flames
A Poem on Winter

I love winter.
The cold, biting air.
The snow that falls with no sound.
The bright sun’s glare
From the white, frozen ground.
I love winter.
It makes every door an entry way
Into a warm and cozy lair.
When a bright, white blanket falls on a snowy day
All I want is to sit in the warmth and stare.
I love winter.
A time when I can sit quietly in my life.
Staring out the window at the snow like a picture frame
A hot cup of tea bringing warmth, like a knife,
Cutting through the chills of snowy days
And the peace of candle flames.
