Small Talk

leave you marks all over the page and spill your beer all over the place

and could you please remind me why the reason that you couldn't stay

pull your scapegoat by the horns pick your rose up by the thorns

does anyone pay it attention

wait

what was on this conversation?

talk so small you barely see it unless you got a microscope

and could you please remind me how the things we don't like are allowed

bleeding out through all my pens and would it all happen again

does anyone pay it attention

wait

what was on this conversation?

the leader of the broken fence they hear you talking through the vents

and could you please remind me when the show goes on I missed again

the rebels take their broken lines arrange 'em 'til they're feeling fine

does anyone pay it attention

wait

what was on this conversation?

the ramblings of an old man

talk about his life and talk about his wife and

how they built that old dam

down by the river
