Small Circles

I am learning

the hard way

some people must be left behind

Some people can never

Accompany on the journey

Beyond and alongside.

Few people are forever.

Most people are just here

For a period of time

What hurts the most

The people you want in life

Are most likely not the ones

to stay by your side.

The ones you pray to talk to

The ones you wish will stay

somewhere in your subconscious

You know, everyone has their day

The day your journey ends

The day you separate.

With tears and good wishes

You allow them to go their way.

A small circle you remain with

A broken heart, you couldn't avoid

Praying the hurt will make you stronger

Or Simply ignoring it all.

For life has many challenges

But the most challenging of all

Is letting go of people

You wanted for the long way round.

Today i write a poem

With a heavy heart indeed

I wished it would work out

I prayed for it trust me

But many calls went unanswered

I know it's plain to see.

People who are meant to stay

Make time for you, make time for me

Because they know.

How precious and what that time means.
