Silence.

A lost brother.

We tell you: we're pregnant!

Silence.

We tell you: it's a little boy, he needs to stay in the hospital.

Silence.

I wish you Happy Birthday;

Silence.

The spring thaw arrives.

The summer carries heat and exhaustion

I wonder where you are

You're still loved.

The weather turns cool

I hope you are safe

Halloween arrives,

Decorations galore for a young relative you have never met

Halloween goes

You are invited to Thanksgiving;

Silence.

Christmas comes; you are invited

Silence.

An open invite, hope springs eternal after all

Christmas goes; you did not come

I wish you Happy Birthday.

Silence.
